Former Manchester United player Gary Pallister has admitted that Liverpool are a more attractive club to prospective new signings than the Old Trafford outfit.
Both North West sides are reportedly pursuing Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, with recent rumours emerging that the Merseyside club lead the race and are set to secure the deal ahead of their historic rivals.
With this saga on the verge of coming to a close, Pallister claimed that “if you’re in a hurry, you’re going to sign for Liverpool at the minute.”

“Man United are one of the two biggest clubs in the world, if you get a chance to sign for Manchester United, you’d snap their hands off, usually,” the 56-year-old told Lord Ping.
“Obviously players are going to look at United and the troubles they’ve had, a new manager going in, where they finished last year, not playing Champions League football, they have got European football which can be a bonus but it’s not the top tier of European football. I think if you’re in a hurry, you’re going to sign for Liverpool at the minute.”
With the Anfield side off the back of a season in which they won both domestic cup competitions, came 2nd in the league and reached the Champions League final, it’s hard to dispute Pallister’s claim. United are off the back of a massively underwhelming campaign where they finished 6th, when expectations to compete for the title had been high.
The current state of the two club’s makes Nunez’ preference to join Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool all the more understandable and Pallister expects this to continue throughout the window as the two clubs inevitably battle each other for players.

Nunez, who burst onto the scene in the 2021/22 season scoring 34 goals in 41 appearances, is expected to complete a move to Anfield after agreeing personal terms with the club several days ago.
The Uruguayan is believed to be the replacement for Sadio Mane, who is on the verge of a move to Bayern Munich.
