Manchester United fans are up in arms after the official Red Devils’ Twitter account posted a video of Antony Santos being outmanoeuvred by Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly.
The controversial tweet consisted of a short clip, which showed Antony playing during United’s recent 1-0 victory over the Cherries last weekend.
The 16-second video was shared to the account’s 35.8 million followers with the caption: “That turn was too smooth, @Antony00.” In the footage, the Brazillian-born baller attempted to spin around Kelly and charge for goal. However, he ended up in a grapple instead and ultimately lost out on possession.
Despite Antony giving away the ball, United were granted a free kick as the defender was penalised by the linesman.

Following the clip being posted on Twitter, fans of Erik ten Hag’s team have come out in their droves, urging the official account to take the video down.
One wrote, “Please delete before our enemies sees this,” while another simply said, “Delete ASAP.”
However, many viewers have aimed more scathing comments at Antony and his apparent inability to get past the 24-year-old Bournemouth man.
One fan wrote: “I’m a Manchester United fan so believe me when I say Anthony is a complete waste of talent.

“He’s the only Brazilian winger in history that lacks the confidence to take on defenders. [Alejandro] Garnacho is who Anthony thinks he is.”
Another said: “Anthony in his full form will be unplayable; hopefully we see that form next season. He should also work on those [Franck] Ribery-like shots.”
A third wrote: “If Antony can make it as a footballer, I still get hope.”
Elsewhere, another fan believed that they had the answer to how best to use the 23-year-old in the upcoming FA Cup final.

They said: “Antony needs to team up with Garnacho. In the upcoming FA Cup final, let’s have Antony and Garnacho start on the wings. Will defeat Manchester City and maintain the exclusive record of winning the treble in a season, forever belonging to Manchester United alone.”
In the 2022/23 Premier League season, the winger has made 24 appearances, scored only four goals and registered two assists. He has also received five yellow cards.
