Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to rival Tottenham in the battle to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, according to reports.
The Spanish shot-stopper, who joined Brentford, then playing in the Championship, from Blackburn in 2019, has made over 140 appearances in all competitions for the Bees, and helped them to promotion via the playoffs in his second season.
He has been the club's undisputed number one throughout both of their seasons in the Premier League, although he missed several months of last season due to a knee injury.

His domestic form has also helped him to win international honours, Raya earned two caps for Spain after making his senior debut last year, having failed to represent his nation at youth level.
Raya told Spanish outlet AS in a recent interview that his future would be discussed at the end of the current season, with his contract set to expire in 2024.
Tottenham have been linked with a move for his signature as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris - and it now appears that they have competition.

According to The Telegraph, both United and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the 27-year-old, as both clubs are said to be admirers of the goalkeeper.

It is said that any deal could cost £15 million to £20 million and, in United's case, may depend heavily on whether or not they qualify for the Champions League this season under Erik ten Hag.
A strong shot-stopper who is also an excellent distributor, both with ball in hand or at feet, Raya would be an ideal option for Ten Hag's style of play, which places more emphasis on the goalkeeper's passing skills.
It was an area that the Dutchman was keen for current number one David de Gea to develop this season, and he stated in November that he was pleased with the 31-year-old's progress.
The Red Devils are in talks with De Gea over a contract extension, with his current deal due to expire this summer. United can activate a one-year extension to his contract automatically, but it has been claimed also by The Telegraph that the club want him to take a pay cut in order to stay and therefore want to negotiate fresh terms.
