Ander Herrera has turned down a move to Tottenham Hotspur out of love for former side Manchester United.
The Spain international currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, who are attempting to sign Tanguy Ndombele from Spurs.
PSG are hoping to use one of their midfielders in a swap deal and Herrera's name has been mooted.
The Athletic's Adam Crafton revealed Herrera is against a move to north London however, explaining: "PSG's Ander Herrera was mentioned as a name in contention for swap deal with Tanguy Ndombele at Tottenham but he's happy at PSG and I'm told that he would only want to play for Manchester United in England."
Herrera spent five years at United after arriving from Athletic Bilbao in 2014.
During his time in England, Herrera won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa League while becoming a fan favourite at Old Trafford.
He'd join PSG on a free transfer in 2019 after failing to agree a new contract with United.
It was claimed the 32-year-old left due to a disagreement over his wage, but the man himself squashed those rumours in 2020.
Herrera said United's lack of urgency rubbed him the wrong way and he felt he deserved more attention from the hierarchy.
"It was not about money," Herrera told The Athletic.
“It was not about the duration of the contract offer. In my opinion, I waited too long (for an offer) and deserved more attention from the club. I was a player that gave everything.
“I never complained. I never went to the media to complain about anything.
"I never put a bad face to any manager, to any member of the board, and they waited until I had five or six months left on my contract.
"That’s why I had some disagreements with them. I tell you this but I also tell you that it is part of football, part of life, nothing personal at all.
"But you ask the question and I give my point of view, as a professional player."
Herrera was named United's Player of the Season in 2016-2017, when they won the Carabao Cup and Europa League under Jose Mourinho.
That season also saw him score against Chelsea and put on a man-marking masterclass against Eden Hazard.
PSG have also offered Leandro Paredes to Spurs, but Paredes isn't interested in a move.
