Manchester United could potentially be forced to splash the cash on Bayern Munich forward Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting if they are to pursue the Cameroonian in the January transfer window.
Man United want to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with the Munich striker according to Florian Plettenberg.
In Plettenberg's tweet, he says: "News Choupo-Moting: #MUFC is seriously interested in a transfer in winter, they have inquired about him. He's a candidate to replace #Ronaldo. Manchester bosses expect him to leave in winter. But: Choupo will stay! Talks about a new contract after the World Cup."

But because Munich aren't prepared to let the striker go, it's reported by Sport Witness that it would take a 'convincing bid' for the deal to happen.

Anthony Martial's pre-season had United fans thinking his goalscoring form was going to be back but he has been suffering with a back injury and has missed many matches already this season.
Marcus Rashford has come up with some incredibly important goals for United this season but is not the deadly striker Erik ten Hag will need if they are to push for a Champions League place this season.
United currently sit fifth in the table, three points shy of Tottenham Hotspur who hold the fourth and final Champions League position.
They play Fulham at the weekend in what will be the last game before the World Cup break.
