Manchester United could equal a 42-year-old record this week should results against Brentford and Everton go awry.
On Sunday Erik ten Hag’s men dropped to fourth in the Premier League table after losing 2-0 to top-four hopefuls Newcastle United.
The Magpies leapfrogged United to go third and put United’s Champions League hopes are now on the brink. Indeed, should Tottenham beat Everton on Monday night the Old Trafford club would drop to fifth in the table with 11 games remaining.

After the Newcastle game, United left-back Luke Shaw labelled the performances as "unacceptable" and "nowhere near good enough.”
The England international said: "The players had a chat in the changing room after with no staff around. We have to work out what the problems are and leave them behind.
"It's down to us. It was nowhere near good enough. We had to speak out in front of each other. We have to get into the Champions League.
"We are the biggest club in the world. We have to be in the Champions League. We have to re-focus and get back to winning ways."

However should United’s poor form continue, they could break an unwanted record on Saturday when they take on Everton.
Man Utd’s unwanted record
Despite having missed the opportunity to establish a six-point cushion over fifth place at the weekend, United have a chance to redeem themselves when they host Brentford on Wednesday. They then take on relegation-threatened Everton at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have not won or scored in their past three Premier League games, and should they draw a blank in the next two games they would equal a 42-year-old record.

Indeed, United’s longest non-scoring run in the league is five matches.
The club failed to net in five games between February 22 to March 17, 1902, while they repeated the unwanted feat between February 7 to March 14, 1981.
Ten Hag will be hoping Marcus Rashford, Wout Weghorst and co have their shooting boots on for their mid-week fixture against the Bees, to put to bed fears of equaling the non-scoring run this term.
