Manchester United target Martin Terrier has suffered a severe knee injury while playing for Rennes.
United consolidated their fourth-place position last night with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bournemouth.
Indeed, on the pitch things are looking rosier for Erik ten Hag’s side; Marcus Rashford netted his third successive goal at Old Trafford in the win against the Cherries, while United stretched their winning run in all competitions to six games.

However, off the pitch, the club’s transfer plans appear to have been affected by the Glazer’s attempts to sell the club as well as last summer’s £227million transfer spend.
In desperate need of a striker after the acrimonious departure of Cristiano Ronaldo last month, United are scouring the market for affordable options.
Terrier suffers serious injury
Terrier is one of many players that has been linked to the Red Devils. Indeed French outlet MediaFoot reported last week that United had contacted the 25-year-old’s agent over a potential move.
However, the Frenchman went down clutching his knee during Monday’s fixture against Nice and was subsequently stretchered off.

The injury came just minutes after the forward netted his ninth Ligue 1 goal of the season to open the scoring.
However, Terrier could now face a prolonged period on the sidelines. Rennes manager Bruno Genesio told the media: “The players went to comfort Martin Terrier who was in the physio room during the match. The knee has swelled up, but we don’t have a diagnosis yet.”
Meanwhile, Footmercato reported that “Terrier collapsed holding his knee and screaming in pain”, describing it as a potentially “terrible injury”.
L’Equipe has since claimed that the injury has affected the right knee's cruciate ligament and meniscus.

In turn, the publication suggested that Terrier could be out for eight months, ruling out any imminent transfers.
