Manchester United have held “positive talks” with Jeremie Frimpong, according to a Bundesliga expert.
United returned to winning ways on Wednesday, claiming a 1-0 victory over Brentford courtesy of Marcus Rashford’s first-half strike.
It was the England international’s 28th goal of the season, matching the best return of a United player since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement ten years ago.

The victory saw United leapfrog Tottenham Hotspur to go fourth in the Premier League, level on points with third-placed Newcastle United, though with an inferior goal difference.
Despite plenty of improvements during Erik ten Hag’s short tenure, the Old Trafford club will look to bolster their squad in the summer, with the prospect of Champions League football increasingly likely.
One position Ten Hag has been eager to address is right back, with first choice Diogo Dalot entering the last 12 months of his deal in June, and understudy Aaron Wan-Bissaka likely to leave the Red Devils permanently.
And United appear to have identified Bayer Leverkusen Frimpong as a replacement.
Frimpong to Man Utd?
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claimed that Frimpong’s agent, Jeffrey Lemmert, had held “very positive” discussions with United.

Indeed, Plettenberg added that Ten Hag “admires the player” with Frimpong “open” to leaving Leverkusen in the coming months.
The Netherlands international has been linked to United for months, having impressed in the Bundesliga this term, contributing 13 goals in 26 league games.

“Frimpong is open to [leaving] Leverkusen in the summer. Contract until 2025.”
The Dutchman, who was once part of the Manchester City academy, has seen his valuation rocket from €10million (£8million) to €35million (£30million) during his time with Leverkusen, according to Transfermarkt.
