Manchester United midfielder Donny van De Beek has provided a positive update on his return from injury, despite being ruled out for the season.
Erik ten Hag recorded an important 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday, as the Red Devils edge ever closer to securing a Champions League spot.
Bruno Fernandes' first-half strike was enough to seal all three points at Old Trafford even without centre-back pairing Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

Martinez has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a fractured metatarsal bone, while Varane is expected to return in time for the FA Cup final.
But another player sidelined through injury is Van de Beek, who has managed just nine appearances this season before he sustained a knee injury against Bournemouth in January.
The Dutcman has since provided an update on his progress, revealing that he is close to a return.

“It’s hard to give you a time but we have to see how everything goes. I’m doing a lot of gym work and getting closer to being on the pitch, which is positive. I’m not far away.”
“It’s a bit strange – of course you want to be there with the lads but it is what it is so I’m supporting them from the side,” he said.
“They are so involved – they’re always asking how everything is, how the knee is. They’re really good lads and they support me, so that’s a good feeling."
Van de Beek has just over a month left to prove his he is fit and make a comeback this season.
