Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer has broken his silence on the prospective sale of the club and Cristiano Ronaldo’s acrimonious Old Trafford exit.
On Tuesday the financial and football world was rocked by the news that after 17 years Man Utd’s controversial owners, the Glazers, were open to selling the club.
A Man Utd statement announced the Glazers family were willing to listen to offers for the Old Trafford club, which is believed to be valued at £5billion.

The statement confirmed the American owners' plan to identify "strategic alternatives" and that the process will consider several options, including new investment or an outright sale.
Glazer has now broken his silence on the takeover situation.

Speaking to Sky News from his West Palm Beach home, Glazer said: "As we announced yesterday, the board went through a process and decided it's going to look at different strategic alternatives - and that's what we're doing."
When asked why the club had not been sold at an earlier date, he repeated: "We'll see where that leads us."

Man Utd fans have demanded a Glazers exit from the moment they arrived in 2005 - the Americans had leveraged a buyout that still sees Man Utd saddled with a £514.9million debt.
Across their 17-year in charge, the Glazers have overseen a further £600 million going out of the club on interest and dividend payments.

The Glazers were reportedly furious by Ronaldo’s fiery remarks in his TalkTV interview with Piers Morgan.

Among several scathing claims, the Portugal star alleged that the Glazers “did not care” about Man Utd. Ronaldo left Man Utd by mutual consent this week, on the back of the tell-all interview.
However, Glazer refused to be drawn on the striker's claim that his family did not care about the club. He said: "Well, I'll tell you about Cristiano Ronaldo - he's a great Manchester United player, I appreciate everything he's done for the club and I wish him the best of luck in the future."
