Members of Man United's 2017/18 Premier League side are rumoured to be angling for a belated winners medal after the competition accused Man City of over 100 counts of financial misconduct.
It is believed that there have been conversations between those involved in Jose Mourinho's Manchester United side that they could be declared champions for the 2017-18 season, should their local rivals be hit with a points deduction due to misconduct during their title-winning campaign.
United finished a whopping 19 points adrift of the Citizens in a campaign where Pep Guardiola's side would become the first in Premier League history to accumulate 100 points across a single season. A feat which is yet to be repeated since.
There are thought to have been discussions relating to the possibility of being handed a Premier League winner's medal, some four years after falling short in a quest for United's 21st Premier League title. They have not won the Premier League since 2012/13.

Mourinho - now manager of Serie A side AS Roma - was the man in the dugout for United during the 2017/18 campaign, with his comments regarding City's legal battle with UEFA back in 2020 now resurfacing.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Mourinho stated: "I think it’s going to be the end of the Financial Fair Play because there is no point."
These comments were made prior to City successfully overturning UEFA's charges of alleged financial rule breaking, and they now seem more prominent than ever,
The reigning Premier League champions have been accused of breaking over 100 counts of financial misconduct.
