Sporting Lisbon star Matheus Nunes is Liverpool's latest transfer target, and may look to bring the midfielder over to Anfield this summer.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the Reds have shown serious interest in the 23 year-old from Portugal.
The Italian also tweeted that Chelsea like the player too and that Man City are also in the race to sign him, but no official bids have been made from any of the clubs as of yet.

Previously this summer, the midfielder was also heavily linked with a move to Wolves, who already have a strong Portuguese contingent within the squad, a factor which could play to their advantage.
Nunes signed for Sporting in 2019 and has since become a star performer for the Primeira Liga outfit.
The Portugal international has directly contributed to 15 goals in 99 first-team appearances, playing a part in the club’s Portuguese top-flight success in 2020/21 and two Portuguese League Cup victories.
Beating high-level domestic rivals to any signing would not only be another feather in the cap of sporting director Julian Ward so early in his tenure; but snapping up a midfielder of Nunes’ calibre would also be a sensational piece of business from Liverpool.

However, Klopp has recently stated that the reds purchasing another midfielder this summer is unlikely to happen, unless a current player sends in a transfer request.
The German said: ‘I don't think something will happen in midfield, but you never know. If somebody comes to you and says 'I want to go'...
‘Nobody came to me but if that happens then we have to talk. But if the situation stays like it is, then tell me why (I should sign someone)?'
'I do not understand. People told me about this discussion but the last thing that would have crossed my mind is that we have to do this (sign a midfielder).’
