Liverpool are set to miss out on signing Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt, who could make a move to Bayern Munich.
That’s according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano who claims the German side are preparing an official bid for the centre-back and the Italian club want between €90 to €100m
In other Bayern news, Romano also revealed the Bavarians are also pursuing RB Leipzig man Konrad Laimer.

After months of rumours, Serge Gnabry will also be staying put in East Germany, signing a contract extension until 2026.
The de Ligt news on top of the Gnabry contract extension will be viewed as a blow by Liverpool fans.
Recruiting a centre-back wasn’t a priority for Liverpool this summer by any means, but they are known to be long-term admirers of de Ligt.
With Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip entering the twilight years of their respective careers, signing a centre-back to compete with Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konaté will be on Liverpool’s agenda at some point.

Some viewed de Ligt as the natural option in that regard. He has learnt a lot from Van Dijk at international level and he is a player who commands a lot of respect through his leadership.
However, at least for now, de Ligt won’t be joining the Anfield club.
If his move to Bayern is completed, he’ll help to form what is an exciting backline at the Allianz Arena.
De Ligt will partner French international Dayot Upamecano at the centre of Julian Nagelsmann’s defence, creating one of Europe’s most promising centre-back partnerships.

De Ligt was also linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, but they opted to sign 31-year-old Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly instead.
Gnabry's contract extension comes as something of a surprise given he appeared to be available for a transfer earlier in the window.
Liverpool fans will be hoping their club doesn’t regret refraining to sign the German when he is on the market amid Darwin Nuñez’s poor start to life at Liverpool.
