Portuguese starlet Matheus Nunes is believed to be waiting for a move to Liverpool despite interest from Wolves.
The midfielder has been sporadically linked with a move to Anfield throughout the summer transfer window, and according to Correiro da Manha (via Empire of the Kop), he's very keen to join.
And Thiago Alcantara’s recent injury layoff might mean Nunes’ patience regarding the potential move pays off.

Thiago has sustained a fairly serious hamstring injury which could keep him out for up to 6 weeks.
In consequence, Liverpool fans might finally see their desire to see their club sign a new midfielder this summer satisfied.
Recent reports have suggested Jürgen Klopp is happy with the squad available to him despite concerns about the quality of his engine room options.
But the injury of Thiago could thus act as something of a blessing in disguise, changing the German manager's mind and sign one more player.

And if that player were to be Matheus Nunes, Liverpool fans would be lefty fairly pleased.
He’s not the goal scoring midfielder Kopites have been hoping the club would sign since Jürgen Klopp’s 2015 arrival, but he’d add valuable depth in one specific role.
Stylistically, Nunes is very similar to Thiago Alcantara. Both players are strong dribblers of the ball who pride themselves on their ability to navigate an opposition press.

Thiago’s profile is currently unique within the Liverpool squad, so when he’s unavailable, he’s dearly missed by the Reds.
If Nunes were to join, the void Thiago leaves in the Liverpool team when he’s unavailable for selection wouldn’t be felt quite so profoundly.
Even before Thiago got injured, signing a player of Nunes’ profile would’ve been sensible for Liverpool.
And now, one might argue it’s a necessity. Rated at £51 million by Sporting, Matheus Nunes is very much needed at Anfield this term.
