Liverpool are set to make an offer Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic in the last days of the transfer window, according to Spanish publication Fichajes.
The Reds have been linked with Brozovic for some time as they look to bolster their ageing midfield.
While Jude Bellingham is supposedly the Merseyside club’s top target, the Borussia Dortmund man is deemed unavailable until the summer of 2023, meaning Jurgen Klopp may turn his attention to other players.

According to the report, Klopp has identified Brozovic as one of these alternatives to Bellingham and that the German boss is preparing a move to secure the services of the Croatian international.
Liverpool will offer the 29-year-old, who is currently earning £106,000 a week, a two year deal with an option for a third.
However, they could face competition from the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, who are also said to have held a long-term interest in the 2018 World Cup finalist.

Brozovic has spent the last seven years with the Italian side, making 291 appearances in that time and lifted the Serie A title in 2021.
The former Dinamo Zagreb man has also played 74 times for his country, scoring seven times and playing a key part in Croatia’s run to the World Cup final in 2018.
With Thiago Alcantara ruled out for several weeks after sustaining an injury in Liverpool’s opening Premier League game at Craven Cottage last weekend and the likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continuing to struggle with fitness issues, a short-term stop gap signing like Brozovic may make sense for the Reds.
Next summer, you’d expect Klopp to move for a younger option like Bellingham who can lower the age profile of a midfield department consisting of Thiago, James Milner and Jordan Henderson, all of whom are on the wrong side of 30.

However, reputable sources have reported that Liverpool’s incoming business this summer was completed after signing Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho, but the injury to their Spanish playmaker may change these plans.
