Liverpool are ready to pay €90 million to sign Real Madrid star Federico Valverde this summer, according to a new report.
The Reds' priority in the transfer window is to bolster their midfield, having already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.
They have been heavily linked with France U21 international pair Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone, with Football Insider claiming that talks are ongoing with Nice to sign the former.

It is suggested, meanwhile, that Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch could become an option for Liverpool if the Thuram deal falls through. Both players are represented by super agent Rafaela Pimenta.
But a new option appears to have emerged in the form of Valverde, who has played a key role in a Real Madrid side that has won nine trophies since his breakthrough into the first team in 2019.

According to Spanish outlet Nacional (via Football365), Liverpool are ready to table a bid of up to €90 million for Valverde, who would join up with Uruguay team-mate Darwin Nunez if he moved to Anfield.
The 24-year-old's all-action style would provide a threat in both boxes, and add an extra dimension to Liverpool's midfield.
But the report also claims that Valverde is not keen to leave Real this summer. Furthermore, Liverpool are said to be more likely to complete deals for Thuram and Kone this summer.
Furthermore, when asked by ESPN Argentina (via Empire of the Kop) about his future, Valverde stated: "No, no. I'm at Madrid and I'm trying to enjoy every moment and leave my mark on the best club in the world.

"I want to keep winning titles for the Real Madrid fans."
The Reds have also been linked with a move for the Uruguayan's Real team-mate Aurelien Tchouameni, with Jurgen Klopp said to have given the 'green light' to bid €55 million for the French international.
Liverpool attempted to sign the midfielder from Monaco last summer before he joined Real - and it would be a shock to see either the Frenchman or Valverde departing as the club begins to prepare for a future without long-serving star Luka Modric.
