Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV in January - and prominent transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has given an update on how the deal will progress.
Despite the agreement between both clubs for an undisclosed fee, which is believed to be in the region of £37 million, the move is subject to the 23-year-old winger passing a medical.
The news of Gakpo's imminent arrival at Anfield took fans by surprise on Monday evening, with Manchester United reportedly leading the race to sign him for several months.

But CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs claimed that United never placed a formal bid for his services ahead of January, despite Erik ten Hag's interest in the player.
Gakpo is instead set to join up with Jurgen Klopp's side instead, who recorded a morale-boosting 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Reports of the Netherlands international's arrival came hours later, and he will fill the void left by the injured Luis Diaz once the deal is fully finalised.
But when can Liverpool fans expect Gakpo's move to be officially completed?
Romano gives Cody Gakpo transfer update
Fabrizio Romano has outlined how long it may take for Liverpool to announce Gakpo, with only PSV having made a public statement about the deal thus far.

He tweeted: "Liverpool are planning for Cody Gakpo to arrive in England tonight and then complete his move.
"If everything goes to plan with logistical stuff, main part of the medical tests will take place tomorrow."
Providing the medical tests are passed, the forward, who scored three goals at the World Cup for Netherlands, could potentially be announced on Wednesday or Thursday.
The transfer window officially opens on January 1, with teams having the entire month to conclude business.

But Liverpool have stolen a march on their rivals by agreeing an early for one of Europe's most sought-after young forwards, and fans will hope Gakpo can help them to a Premier League top four finish and progression in this season's Champions League.
