James Milner, Jordan Henderson, and Thiago Alcantara are all now the wrong side of 30, and will be leaving Anfield sooner rather than later.
As such, over the course of the next few seasons, Liverpool need to sign a number of players to operate in their midfield.
Most prominently linked with a switch to Merseyside has been Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham. Liverpool are believed to be prepared to buy him from Dortmund next summer in a deal worth £100 million.
Bellingham can’t be the only addition though, so signing a few youngsters at a reasonable price would be wise.

Guler fits into that category of player. One who can come to Liverpool at young age, initially feature sporadically, and learn from the experienced midfielders around him.
As a more offensively oriented midfielder, Guler would face fierce competition for a first team spot if he were to make the switch to England.

Liverpool have a host of players competing to play in the more offensively minded right-central-midfield role, where one would presume Guler will play.
The likes of Jordan Henderson, Harvey Elliot, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all consider that spot in the team their best position.
As such, at 17, if Liverpool were to sign Guler, he’d likely spend a large chunk of his first season working with the club’s youth teams, fighting to break into the first team next season.
