The news has led fans to speculate over a possible summer move.
It is also claimed that Liverpool are keen to recruit the Argentine as part of a major overhaul, with Mason Mount also linked to the Reds.
Mac Allister, who's contract runs out in 2025 is allegedly priced at £70million. But it is thought this could rise even further following the £100m valuation of fellow Seagulls midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Mac Allister was keen for a move away from the Amex, with his sights set on a 'top club'.

The Italian told CaughtOffside: “I’m told he has chances to leave in the summer as he’d love a top club move, but Brighton guarantee they’ve not fixed a price tag yet and I guess it’s going to be another big fight to sign Brighton star in the summer.”
Meanwhile, Mac Allister's father, Carlos Mac Allister reportedly held talks with two unnamed clubs over a summer transfer.
Explaining his son's transfer situation, he told TyC Sports: "We all know that in July there will be possibilities to be able to leave.
"But prior to the World Cup, Alexis renewed his contract so that the club also has the opportunity of an important transfer, so that a lot can reach Brighton. It is the idea."
