Liverpool made an offer to sign highly rated Swedish striker, Alexander Isak, earlier this year.
It certainly hasn’t been a slow start to the transfer window for the reds, with the signatures of the exciting youngsters Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay already secured.
Although both deals were smart bits of business, neither was as high profile and exciting as the signing of the Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, who arrived from Benfica for £85m, after scoring 34 goals for the Portuguese side last season.

However, it looks as if Nunez wasn't the only frontman on the Merseyside club’s radar.
According to an article by Spanish news outlet, Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have previously made an offer to sign Alexander Isak, but it fell well short of Real Sociedad’s £77m valuation.
The price of the Liverpool bid is not stated, however the Catalan journalists claimed back in March that the reds intended to offer 70 million euros.
Other interested clubs include the Champions League winners, Real Madrid, who are keen to bolster their attacking forces after losing out on Mbappe - a transfer that seemed inevitable early on in the summer.

Isak has impressed with Real Sociedad, scoring 23 La Liga goals over the last two seasons in a side that hasn't been firing on all cylinders.
Despite ending the tournament goalless, the 22 year-old was also impressive at Euro 2020, displaying his raw pace, skill and power to the world.
With the arrival of Nunez, it is unlikely Klopp will pursue any further deal with Isak this summer.
They are well covered in that role, with Jota and Firmino able to do a job.

If Liverpool were to end the window spending big, it is more likely they will look towards a midfielder who could start a potential rebuild at the club in this area of the pitch.
