Liverpool are still awaiting further investment opportunities despite reports Fenway Sports Group are struggling to sell the club, a Sky Sports reporter claimed.
In November the Athletic broke that Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) were ready to listen to offers for the Merseyside club, and had compiled a sales deck for interested parties.
The Americans are allegedly listening to expressions of interest over both a full and partial sale of the club, which they have owned since completing a £300million acquisition in 2010.

There has since been a tidal wave of rumours regarding takeover interest. Indeed, a range of reports have linked the likes of oil-rich Middle Eastern states, European consortiums and American venture capitalists to a Liverpool move.
However, the Athletic claimed last week FSG were struggling in their attempts to sell the club. Three months in, the Americans had reportedly received no firm bids and not much buzz.

The journalist said: “It’s an extraordinary situation because three of the big six clubs could change hands in the next few weeks or months.
“Liverpool’s owners are looking for investment, Manchester United owners looking for investment and now this interest in Spurs that the Financial Times are reporting this morning.”
The Financial Times had claimed that Iranian-American billionaire Jahm Najafi was putting together a consortium led by MSP Sports Capital to make a £3.1billion takeover bid for Tottenham Hotspur.
Najafi, the part owner of NBA outfit Phoenix Suns, was reportedly spotted in London amid ongoing reports linking him with a takeover bid for the north London club.

However, Sky Sports have since rebuffed the report, stressing that Tottenham are not for sale and its owners are totally committed to their long-term plans for the club.
