Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler hailed striker Darwin Nunez as a “star in the making”.
The Uruguay international signed for the Reds from Benfica for £64million in the summer, but endured a stuttering start to life at Anfield.
Several fans and pundits were doubting the player after a few underwhelming early performances and a red card against Crystal Palace in August. The forward’s bustling and chaotic style has also at times been ridiculed in certain quarters.

However, Nunez has now netted seven times in his 15 Liverpool appearances, including a goal from the bench in the club’s midweek Champions League game against Napoli.
Fowler, who found the net 189 times in 369 games for Liverpool, insisted that the fans had already taken to the Uruguay international.
Though the former-Liverpool man admitted that Nunez remained raw, he stressed the player had the attributes to be a future “star.”

Fowler told BBC Sport: "We've seen enough to know that he will score goals.
"He looks like he's too eager to please but the signs are very, very good. So far he's been easy on the eye.
"The fans have taken to him already and when you get appreciation like that then it drives you on to perform that little bit better.
"He's obviously still a young lad and he's probably still developing his game. He's maybe struggled in terms of amount of games. He got himself sent off and he's not really had a run required for a striker.

"Players rely on momentum and he looks like that player. He's scored a few goals already and he's going to score more. I just think he needs to calm down and relax in front of goal.
"What I do like about him is that he has an incredible work ethic and that is what Liverpool should always be about. We could be seeing a relative star in the making."

Liverpool have been in woeful league form this season. They sit in ninth place in the Premier League, eight points adrift of Newcastle United in fourth and 15 points from league leaders Arsenal.
On the poor start Fowler added: “They've been the victims of their own success and it's a case of not having the momentum they had last season.
"I have every confidence in Jurgen Klopp and the team - they've had a tough time but I've no doubt they will come out of it and be the Liverpool that we've seen in the last few seasons."
