Liverpool have warned Ousmane Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, about spreading false transfer rumours,
according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs
Dembele has been linked with a move away from Barcelona for what feels like an age, and the reports regarding the future of the 25-year-old winger have not died down in the slightest.

The Frenchman was reportedly close to signing for Chelsea as a free agent, but recent rumours have suggested that the Barcelona forward is intent on signing a new deal at the Camp Nou.
Liverpool are also a club that have been linked with Dembele, but according Ben Jacobs, the talk surrounding Liverpool is nothing but a ploy from Dembele’s agent Sissoko, who looks to leverage a more lucrative deal with Barcelona.

Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Jacobs had this to say: “It’s all coming from Sissoko to try to leverage, shock horror, right at the point when Dembele is in deep talks with Barcelona to get more.”
“Liverpool laughed off the links and they actually said that they warned Sissoko to not spread false rumours about their interest.”
“They were not interested in Dembele and they made that very clear that they were unhappy with the form of links being put out there.”
As of today, Dembele is not officially a Barcelona player with his contract having expired.

However, the forward can still reside at the club should he wish to.
Dembele joined the Catalan side in 2017 for €140 million, but has been able to reach anywhere near the heights that his transfer fee would suggests.

Injuries have hampered the talented winger’s career and he has only managed 149 appearances and 19 goals in his 5 years at the club.
Such injuries are seen as a huge repellent for Liverpool, who’s high intensity pressing style would not be suited to Dembele.
With the French international currently out of contract, this saga is one to keep an eye out for in the upcoming days.
