Chelsea have begun talks with former Liverpool Sporting Director Michael Edwards over a move to the club under new owner Todd Boehly.
The American, who took over the West London side from Roman Abramovich, is keen to shake things up, and has brought in Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and more recently youngsters Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina.
But despite the aforementioned acquisitions, they have struggled in negotiations for Raphinha, Jules Kounde and Marc Cucurella and the addition of an experienced hand in Edwards could significantly sharpen up their transfer dealings.

There is one major problem, however. The former Liverpool man wants a year to recharge, according to the Daily Mail, but Boehly wants him now to aid with their summer dealings.
Edwards, who left the Reds this summer after over a decade on Merseyside working in several roles, is a much-wanted commodity in both the footballing and business spaces after his exceptional work on a smaller budget than his competitors.
During his time in charge of transfers at Anfield, 22 players have been bought for a combined £487.5m, according to LFC History. Meanwhile, 27 players have been sold for a combined £371.1m.
Julian Ward, who shadowed Edwards, is now his successor, and has already followed in his footsteps, striking clever deals for Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay, whilst also negotiating bigger transfers for Darwin Nunez and the contract for Mo Salah.

If Chelsea manage to recruit Edwards it will be a bold statement of intent for Boehly and his plans for the future of the club, but it may be a struggle to do so this summer.
