Liverpool are plotting a £44million move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Nunes, according to a reliable journalist.
Jurgen Klopp is in the middle of a rebuilding job on Merseyside. The club are in desperate need of new midfielders in particular, with Naby Keita, Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain and Arthur Melo all due to depart in the summer.
As has been widely reported, the Reds have prioritised the signing of England and Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, while Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez has also been touted as an option.

Another player linked with Klopp’s side is Nunes, despite the 24-year-old having only arrived at Molineux last summer.
Wolves paid a club-record £38million for the Portugal international, who featured twice at the World Cup.
However, a range of reports claim the star could be on his way to Anfield next summer.
Liverpool plotting move for Nunes
The Times journalist Paul Joyce claimed Nunes is on Liverpool’s radar and noted a hug between the player and Klopp at the end of Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Wolves last weekend.

Joyce tweeted that Liverpool have expressed an interest in the player with a view to signing him next summer.
He said: "There was a hug at full-time between Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes and Jurgen Klopp. He is a target to improve the team in the summer with a £44 million deal mooted. Still, the (midfield) problem needs addressing now."
Earlier this month the Telegraph claimed Liverpool had made a commitment to Nunes, promising to bid for him this coming summer.
However, any move in the current window is unlikely, given Wolves’ precarious position in the Premier League relegation place.

Indeed, Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui insisted the Portugal star was happy at Wolves when quizzed about speculation linking Nunes to Liverpool.
The Spaniard said on the speculation: “We can say that Matheus is our player. He’s a Wolves player and he’s so happy here.”
