Liverpool are thought to have made Jude Bellingham their priority this January, and journalist Christian Falk has provided a fascinating insight into the player's current situation.
Bellingham, 19, announced himself on to the world stage in Qatar, attracting interest from Europe's top clubs including Real Madrid and Liverpool.
The Reds appear to have become frontrunners for his signature, following Carlo Ancelotti's recent statement that he is happy with his current midfield.

The Italian said, via GOAL: "Bellingham has shown at the World Cup that he is a great midfielder, but so have others. Enzo Fernandez has played very well. Gavi and Pedri as well.
"Bellingham is one of those very good midfielders, but I'll stick with the ones we have."
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has been vocal in his praise for the midfielder, whilst Bellingham's father is thought to favour a move to Anfield.
However, questions remain over whether Liverpool can compete financially, especially considering their increasing risk of missing out on Champions League qualification.

As the club's search for a midfielder continues, Falk has a positive update for fans - claiming that Liverpool would be a sensible choice for Bellingham.

Falk has given the Reds a major confidence boost in their pursuit of the World Cup star, discussing the personal requirements for the player and his family.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Falk said: "I heard, when he was 15 there was a European tour for him; his father, Mark and his agent, Mark Bennett. They went to Munich, Amsterdam, Turin, Paris, Madrid, Chelsea and also they were at United.
“There were talks in 2020 between Michael Zorc, who was in Birmingham, in which the family told Dortmund what they wanted: a career plan, playing time and a clear vision for his future. This plan for the future could be important in the next deal because he’s still very young."
Falk then suggested that the Premier League should be his next destination, believing former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp to be a prime mover in the execution of a deal.
“The next step should be the Premier League because he can always go to Real Madrid in five or six years, he’s got a lot of time. Jurgen Klopp remains the hope of Liverpool, he’s been convincing in terms of his plans for the player but Dortmund, of course, want a lot of money," he added.

"If they don’t bring the money to the table then Real Madrid will be in the driver’s seat."
The Bundesliga club are thought to want £100million up front if they were to see him leave, report The Sun. However, Falk has reiterated the player's wishes to play in Merseyside.
“Bellingham would like to play for Liverpool. His father, who is the main character in this potential deal, is also convinced of that but Dortmund has to get the money for this deal," added Falk.
