Ex Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum is set leave Paris Saint Germain, and a deal with AS Roma is nearly in place, according to Il Messaggero.
Wijnaldum had a poorer season than expected for PSG, in 38 games across all competitions he got a disappointing 3 goals and 3 assists from midfield.
Although he also found goal scoring hard to come by whilst in Merseyside, Wijnaldum produced some stellar performances in a Liverpool shirt, his most notable being the display he gave in the second leg of the 2019 Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.

The midfielder will undoubtedly be hoping to repeat the impressive form he showed on Merseyside.
And it seems to be Jose Mourinho’s exciting new Roma side that is winning the race for his signature.
The outlet report the Italian side have a £8m loan-to-buy deal close to being agreed upon.
In addition, according to journalist GuillameMP, PSG are willing to pay at least half of Wijnaldums’s wages to get it done.

Roma president, Dan Friedkin, has also reportedly entered the negotiations to get the move over the line.
His friendship with PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi will undoubtedly work in favour of the Giallorossi.
However, many other clubs are said to be interested, with Everton leading the race ahead of the other Premier League clubs involved in the saga.
Wijnaldum is said to be a key target for Lampard's side, despite his previous Merseyside loyalties.

Gini might be tempted by a sensational Premier League return if the Roma deal falls through.
