After a stellar performance against Morocco for the USMNT last night, it has today been revealed Liverpool hold an interest in Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic. With Sadio Mané set to depart this summer, Jurgen Klopp would like to add a new forward to his ranks, and Pulisic could be the perfect man for the job.
The American endured a difficult season with Chelsea. The winger showed glimpses of his talent throughout the campaign, providing 11 goal contributions across the Champions League and the Premier League, but failed to establish himself as a regular starter for the Blues.
Thus, the 23-year-old could be interested in making the switch to Merseyside this summer. Granted, just as he doesn’t at his current club Chelsea, he wouldn’t automatically walk into Jurgen Klopp’s first XI, but his speed and tenacity make him well suited to the style of forward the Liverpool boss looks for.

Aside from Pulisic, Liverpool have been linked to the likes of Darwin Nuñez and Martin Terrier in recent weeks. It is clear that Liverpool are on the hunt for a wide player who can contribute goals and assists, and an in-form Christian Pulisic can provide just that. The Reds may fancy their chances when it comes to getting the best out of Pulisic, according to The Mirror.
Although Pulisic never played under Klopp for Dortmund, the pair were together for a brief period in 2015 before Klopp’s departure from the German club. The Liverpool manager will be fully aware of Pulisic’s star qualities.
Whether Chelsea would welcome Liverpool’s advances complexes the potential of such a deal. This could depend on their pursuit of Man City’s Raheem Sterling. Furthermore, after seeing former man Mo Salah set his career alight at Anfield in recent years, they may be reluctant to let another player with obvious talent enjoy their best years on Merseyside rather than in West London. This is a transfer link which feels unlikely to materialise into anything serious.
