Reflecting on his own early years after reaching 600 Premier League appearances in the match against Southampton, Milner said: "You see clips now and the footage looks very old and the shirts look very big.
"But you see people like Harvey and Ben Doak now and how young they are and how well they're doing being in and around Liverpool.
"Ben coming on the other day and a similar age, only just turned seventeen. It does take you back and you know how it felt.

"Hopefully I can help those guys keep improving and become the best players because their abilities are absolutely incredible.
"Anything I've learnt on my way, if I can teach them a little bit quicker than it took me to figure it out, they'll be flying because the ability they have is incredible."
