Lionel Messi provided a brilliant assist for Kylian Mbappe in PSG's pre season training, and fans will be hoping to see more of that when the new campaign starts.
Messi and Mbappe could be a very dangerous partnership if they start clicking more, after the Frenchman turned down the advances of Real Madrid to stay in Paris, and they look to be getting up to speed, as the video below shows.
Messi moved to PSG last summer, after financial problems meant that Barcelona couldn't afford to keep him at the Nou Camp once his contract expired.

The seven time Ballon d'Or winner might be looking at his former club's current spending and wondering why that couldn't have been used for him last year, but he's got more pressing matters to think about.
Messi's debut season in Ligue 1 was far from his usual standards and he scored just six league goals, his least since scoring just once in his debut season in 2004/05, when he made just seven appearances.
However, he was still good at helping his teammates score, as he provided 14 assists in 26 league games, at least making up for some of his goal scoring deficiency, as PSG recaptured the title.
With Mbappe having decided to stay put, fans will be hoping that the pair can have a special partnership, with a full summer to work on things, and the assist in training is certainly the first steps.

"Mbappe losing possession 2 times in a 10 second clip just for Messi to give him the tap in. Messi is the father of football," one fan commented.
"Played better football in 2 minutes than they did the whole season under Pochettino," another added, on the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino following the end of last season.
Another perfectly summed up what it's like watching Messi, saying, "I keep smiling when Messi keep doing this football thing."

A fourth suggested staying at the Parc des Princes was all about teaming up with Messi for Mbappe, saying, "This why mbappe didn’t leave to Madrid."
And another fan thinks the pair are being held back by their fellow forward, saying, "Messi and Mbappe would be dead ass scary all they need is to get rid of Ney."
PSG have had a shake up this summer, with Pochettino leaving and being replaced by Christophe Galtier, who led Lille to the league title in 2021, and moved on director of football Leonardo and replaced him with Luis Campos.

Galtier will be hoping to get more goals out of Messi but he has already been giving them away in pre season, handing over penalty duties to Sergio Ramos, of all people.
The new boss will be hoping to find a better balance between Messi, Mbappe and Neymar, as the French giants try to finally win the Champions League.
Neymar could still be sold this summer, with the Brazilian having reportedly been offered a shirt number at Newcastle United already.
By the looks of pre season, Mbappe and Messi wouldn't be too lost without him.
