Gianluigi Donnarumma's agent ready to take legal action as he drops bombshell on goalkeeper's next move

Donnarumma is set to leave PSG after being exiled from the squad.

Gianluigi Donnarumma's agent has issued a threat of legal action against Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic new statement.

On Tuesday evening, Donnarumma confirmed on social media that 'someone' at PSG had decided that he 'could no longer be part' of the first-team squad at the club.

The Italian played a major role in PSG's Champions League triumph last season and was named in UEFA's Team of the Season.

However, he is out of contract next summer and is one of the club's highest earners, having been signed in 2021 at a time when PSG paid higher salaries to their players.

The 26-year-old has been in talks over an extension but, with no deal seemingly forthcoming, he has persistently been linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United.

Tuesday's developments appear to have ensured that Donnarumma will leave Parc des Princes this summer.

PSG boss Luis Enrique took responsibility for the decision to drop the goalkeeper, explaining: "We were looking for a different profile of a keeper and, once again, it is very difficult to make this type of decision.

"I understand questions about Donnarumma but I want to make the team better. I think we have been quite clear."

L'Equipe report that Donnarumma has reached an agreement to sign for Manchester City this summer.

However, The Sun claim that Pep Guardiola has some reservations about the Italian's style of play, with playing out from the back and distribution not one of the goalkeeper's biggest strengths.

Now, speaking to Sky Sport (via Fabrizio Romano), Donnarumma's agent Enzo Raiola has slammed PSG and claimed that the player is 'shocked' at his treatment by the club.

"We are shocked by PSG. There's zero respect by the club after four years together.

"We will consider the situation also with our legal team. Gigio was even ready to reduce his salary but PSG changed the conditions.

"We will consider solutions now, maybe in Premier League. There will be clubs able to pay what's needed. PSG are asking for big money. They talk about respect, but it's only about the money..."

In Donnarumma's absence, new signing Lucas Chevalier will line up between the sticks for PSG when they take on Tottenham in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday evening.

Tellingly, PSG spent a reported €40 million, plus €15 million in potential add-ons, on the France international, also handing him a five-year contract - making their intentions over Donnarumma's future clear.
