Jurgen Klopp has received a massive transfer boost after reports claimed World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez is keen to join Liverpool.
Having arrived at the tournament on the fringes of Argentina’s first team, Fernandez became instrumental as La Albiceleste went on to become world champions for the first time since 1986.
Fernandez started Argentina’s last five matches of the World Cup - his first ever starts for the South American giants - and on Sunday was named the Young Player of the Tournament.

The 21-year-old’s performances have reportedly caught the attention of Liverpool boss Klopp. Indeed, earlier this month it was claimed Liverpool had already agreed a deal to sign the Benfica star next summer.
Now reports suggest that Fernandez, who only made the move to Benfica last summer, is eager to move to Merseyside.
Fernandez wants Liverpool?
Portuguese outlet Ojogo, which was one of the first publications to report Liverpool’s interest in Darwin Nunez, claimed that Fernandez prefers a move to Liverpool, despite interest from clubs in Spain and Italy.
However, Fernandez’s release clause is said to be around £105million, with the 21-year-old’s previous club River Plate allegedly due to receive 25 percent of any future transfer fee.

Liverpool are in the market for new midfielders, with England’s 19-year-old talisman Jude Bellingham believed to be the priority target.
However, they are also monitoring Fernandez. On a prospective deal for the World Cup winner transfer-guru, Fabrizio Romano, told Caught Offside: “After such an outstanding World Cup, Premier League clubs, La Liga clubs… Many of them have fallen in love with Enzo Fernandez.
“He has €120million release clause into his contract so it’s not going to be an easy one for any club, Benfica will try to keep him at least until the end of the current season.
“Liverpool are monitoring many midfielders, he’s one of them.”
