Jose Mourinho celebrated Roma goal during VAR check, it wasn't even confirmed by the referee

Jose Mourinho celebrated Roma's goal vs Real Betis while the VAR check was going on.

Jose Mourinho produced another classic Jose Mourinho moment in Roma's 1-1 draw with Real Betis on Thursday night.

The Giallorossi claimed a point at the Benito Villamarin after Andrea Belotti cancelled out Sergio Canales's opener in the 53rd minute.

The Italian striker already had a goal disallowed by VAR in the 46th minute when another second striker was initially chalked off for offside.

But then a long VAR check ruled that Belotti was onside from a Tammy Abraham pass and so the goal was given.

However, Mourinho was a step ahead of everyone else. Having been gutted that the striker was disallowed, the legendary Portuguese manager immediately watched the incident back on his assistant's iPad.

He could see that Belotti, who was onside, had touched the ball first - meaning the goal was a perfectly legitimate one.

Before the referee had even blew his whistle, produced the VAR signal and ordered a restart, Mourinho was off celebrating prior to official confirmation.

He animatedly raced out of his seat with his outstretched arms and even did a jumping fist pump in the air.

It was vintage Mourinho stuff and fans loved his antics:

Mourinho, who made history in guiding Roma to the inaugural Europa Conference League trophy last season, has continued to produce utter gold this term.

He filmed himself watching his Roma side from the team bus following a touchline ban.

The punishment was dished out after he had ran onto the pitch during the game against Atalanta.

Off the pitch, the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs boss also made a brilliant cameo in Stormzy's music video for his track 'Mel made me do it'.

The draw in Andalusia secured Betis' qualification to the Europa League knockouts, though Roma are in third place on 4 points after as many games.

They face bottom club HJK next, before hosting second-placed Ludogorets, ahead of them by three points, in a huge final fixture.
