Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling said that Chris Kamara correcting him live on air in 2016 was a ‘low point of his career'.
The retirement-bound broadcaster is stretching his wings and departing from the Sky Sports show this weekend after 31 years at the helm.
Stelling has fronted Soccer Saturday since 1998, but recently announced he was leaving to “give viewers a break”.

In a statement, he said: “I've been at Sky for more than 30 years and loved every moment of my time as part of the Soccer Saturday team.
“It is now the right time to move on and give Sky Sports viewers a break from my relentless rants, bad gags and over-the-top celebrations of Hartlepool United goals.”
Long-term colleague Chris Kamara has already paid tribute to the 68-year-old presenter ahead of his last broadcast this Sunday.

He took to Twitter to say that Stelling had been a “massive part” of his life and that he loved him “to bits”.
The duo’s chemistry was undeniable and of course, the reason the classic catchphrase “Unbelievable Jeff!” was uttered in the first place.
However, the soon-to-be-retired presenter once said that an on-screen moment the pair shared was a ‘low point’ in his career.

As per the Mirror, Kamara caught his fellow presenter making an on-air error in October 2016 and had to make sure the public knew about it.
The Middlesbrough man was in east London covering a West Ham match against Sunderland when he realised his co-host had made a fatal mistake.
Stelling had said: "Let's go and find out what's happening at Upton Park, West Ham nil Sunderland nil.
“Does this look like it's going to end in deadlock to you, Chris Kamara?"

Kamara, realising his colleague had called the stadium Upton Park, took pleasure in correcting him.
He said: "The London Stadium you mean Jeff? Get it right... come on."
His co-host replied: "That's the low point in my career. Chris Kamara telling me to get it right. Unbelievable Kammy."

Of course, the ex-Bradford manager stepped away from Soccer Saturday last season, ending the on-screen partnership after 24 years of iconic broadcasting moments.
This was due to Kamara being diagnosed with apraxia of speech and TV “taking a back seat”.
Stelling is set to say farewell to Sky Sports on Sunday 28 May — the final day of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
