Man City star Jack Grealish has hilariously been caught out by eagle-eyed fans after his interesting claim about Christmas and the cult classic Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
Grealish was called up for Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with the City star scoring once in five appearances at the tournament.
England topped Group B ahead of the USA, Iran and Wales and before beating Senegal 3-0 in the round of 16 at the World Cup.

However, Southgate’s men suffered heartbreak in the quarter-finals after a 2-1 defeat to 2018 champions France saw them crash out of the tournament.
Following England’s World Cup exit, Grealish revealed that he travelled to New York City alongside his partner Sasha Attwood after a brief trip to Dubai.
The 27-year-old Aston Villa star spent time at the Plaza Hotel, which is the iconic venue where Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, based himself during the 1992 film.

Grealish revealed that he couldn’t hold back his excitement when he stayed at the Plaza Hotel, but he also claimed that he watches Home Alone 2 every Christmas, which happens “four or five times each year.”
“I stayed in the [same] hotel! You could get some mad room service, like 16 scoops of ice cream! Like what he got in the film and I’ve got an addictive kind of personality,” Grealish said.
“I love that film, man. Someone had told me about it [the tour], so we went around Central Park. I’ve watched it so many times. It’s on every Christmas isn’t it, so four or five times each year.
“I didn’t get to meet the mad pigeon woman, but I never realised how much stuff had been filmed there, in Central Park. I felt like a right little tourist.
“I was in the back of the carriage thing and every now and again someone would say, ‘I swear that’s Jack Grealish.’ I was saying, ‘Mate! Quick! Speed up!’ I loved it. I love Christmas and that.

“My mum’s always made Christmas so special for me growing up, so I’ve always loved Christmas and I’ve always wanted to go to New York around Christmas time, but, obviously, because of football we’ve never been able to. It was like a little bucket list moment. I loved it.”
Grealish’s “four or five times” remark caught the attention of fans, who took to social media after spotting his hilarious mistake.
“This is funny but the reality that he means watching it five times in one day every year is far funnier,” one fan said.
Someone else added: “We've had first Christmas, but what about second Christmas?”

Another posted: “Does… does he think each day in ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ are all a literal Christmas Day?”
“That interview, man. He is a slightly daft 14-year-old and I love him,” one Twitter user posted.
