Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic will make a move to Tottenham Hotspur with the Croatian set to sign for the north London side as a free agent. The 33-year-old will reunite with ex-boss Antonio Conte, with Spurs reportedly very close to announcing the signing of the Croatian on a 2-year-deal.
Conte helped Perisic to regain his form in Italy during his time as Inter boss by deploying the former Bayern Munich man as a wing-back. He will provide competition for the likes of Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon and Ryan Sessegnon next season. Perisic is two-footed and thus he can operate on either flank, so he may also deputise for Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski in forward areas.
The Lilywhites also look set to sign fellow veteran Fraser Forster on a free transfer to act as backup to Hugo Lloris between the sticks. Conte, a manager who has consistently trusted experience over youth over the course of his career, looks like he’ll be carrying on that trend as Spurs boss.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the signing of Perisic impacts Spurs’ pursuit of Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus. Conte may view the Croatian as a player who can provide apt cover for his front players as well as his wingbacks. Football.London report Tottenham also retain an interest in Perisic’s soon to be former teammate, Alessandro Bastoni, who would cost the club around £50 million.
Antonio Conte will look to continue to benefit from the £150 million cash injection he has received at Spurs by pushing to sign yet another player capable of operating as a wing-back, Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic. Fabrizio Romano reports Spurs’ interest is yet to progress into anything ‘advanced,’ but it’s another one to keep an eye on as Conte presses forward with his summer transfer activity.
