Fans think Casemiro's card on EA FC 25 will be 'unusable' after he receives one of the biggest pace downgrades in history

Fans think Casemiro's card on EA FC 25 will be 'unusable' after he receives one of the biggest pace downgrades in history

Casemiro's card on FC 25 has been leaked ahead of next month's release date.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has been handed a significant pace downgrade in EA FC 25, according to leaks, with fans calling the card "unusable".

The 32-year-old Brazil international, who enjoyed a positive start to life at Old Trafford after joining from Real Madrid, endured a far-more-difficult second season in the Premier League.

He has been criticised by a number of high-profile names of late. In fact, towards the end of the season, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher urged the player to leave United this summer.

"I always remember the saying 'leave the football before the football leaves you'. The football has left him," Carragher said. "At this top level, he needs to call it a day at this level and move."

Rene Meulensteen, a former first-team coach under Sir Alex Ferguson, also claimed that he no longer possess the physical capabilities to thrive in England's top flight.

But after being heavily linked with a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, it appears the midfielder will stay after impressing Erik ten Hag in pre-season.

EA Sports, meanwhile, have handed the experienced midfielder a monumental pace downgrade on FC 25, according to FUT trader Donk.

A screenshot of Casemiro's 84-rated card continues to be a huge talking point online, with the midfielder receiving a -5 downgrade on his FC 24 rating.

The five-time Champions League winner has also regressed when it comes to pace, shooting, passing, dribbling, defending and physicality stats.

In fact, his pace has gone from 63 to 38 in the space of a year.

One fan commented on the card, saying: "This is the worst downgrade I’ve ever seen," while another commented: "No amount of chemistry can make him usable, I don't even think any Evo can make him usable."

A third wrote: "38 pace? Does that mean even holding down sprint, he’ll just walk?"

A fourth said: "Not surprised at all. Had a poor season," and a fifth added: "I know he was bad but that’s a criminal downgrade."

To put his card into perspective, former Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker was given a higher pace stat [39] in FIFA 12.
