The latest instalment of EA FC is only days away from being widely released - but footage has emerged of a new skill which will divide football fans and could lead to some broken controllers.

EA Sports FC 25 will be in the shops on September 27 on a variety of gaming platforms in the next version of the popular franchise, though players who have early access have been able to play it seven days earlier.

It will available to play on Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Windows as all bases are covered for gamers, no matter what they play on.

The standard edition cover star is Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham, while the ultimate edition includes Bellingham, Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Gianluigi Buffon, and Aitana Bonmati.

The popular franchise was previously known as FIFA, with the final game under that name being FIFA 23, and the long-term licensing agreement concluding at the end of 2022.

And fans have been promised much with the new title, with a raft of new features and amendments made.

Nick Wlodyka, SVP and Group GM, EA SPORTS FC, said: "With EA SPORTS FC 25, we’re strengthening our vision of a fan-first future for football and redefining what’s possible on the pitch with FC IQ, using AI and real-world data to modernize player tactics and complement the power of HyperMotionV and PlayStyles.

"We’re bringing our fans innovative ways to play with Rush, our most social and engaging experience we’ve ever created, and continuing to craft an authentic representation of the world’s game with the introduction of women’s football into Career Mode."

With the new features that have landed with the latest title, a fresh skill has emerged which players can take advantage of - and it could lead to a fair amount of rage quits and broken controllers if certain people can master it.

Footage has emerged online showing players receiving the ball, spinning around, evading an opponent, before passing to a team-mate.

Social media account FUT.GG which shows tips from the franchise has even described how the move can be done with a console controller.

It wrote: "You hold LB — then RS flick in the direction you are going, then flick to the left or right to exit."

If you pull it off, it will no doubt be satisfying - but it will also probably infuriate a fair chunk of players.
