Ange Postecoglou is nothing short of an Aussie football legend. The Tottenham Hotspur Football Manager has taken the English Premier League by storm with his infamous brand of offensive strategy, known as ‘Ange-Ball’. That same strategy can now be a crucial part of gameplay in FC 25, available to play now, thanks to its new feature — FC IQ.
Now, in a new interview, Postecoglou has opened up about how the strategy can be replicated within FC 25, and how it immortalises his impact on the sport overall.
“I'd be interested to see what actually comes up, because I don't even know what (Ange-Ball) is at times,” Postecoglou said.

“I'm flying by the seat of my pants most of the time when I'm coming up with things.”
FC IQ, for those who don’t know, is one of the biggest changes added to FC 25. Described as FC’s “new tactical system designed to give you more strategic control and freedom”, it's an AI-driven model that really makes gameplay feel personal. You can implement your own preferred player tactics, and transport them across accounts and consoles.
Through this, you can theoretically take all of Ange-Ball, or even just your favourite elements, and replicate them in FC 25.
But what are Ange’s thoughts on FC IQ overall?

Well, Ange reckons that FC IQ could be a valuable tool for players looking to learn and experiment.
"I think it's a great way to learn and experiment with different tactics," he said. "And who knows? Maybe I'll get some new ideas out of it."
We know player ratings are all too important when it comes to FC. Though it’s been a while since he played professional football himself, Ange did give some insight into what he reckons his player rating would be. And, if you ask us, he needs to give himself a little credit.
“It wouldn't be high, fair to say, and that's not just me being modest, that's just the reality of it,” he said.

“I'd probably do alright on a physical scale — I was fairly quick. But I’d get a high competitive rating, if FC has one of those!”
When it comes to Ange’s preferred position and play style in FC 25, it should come as no surprise that he wants to be right in the thick of the action.
“Well, I used to play as a fullback, but I hated it,” he said.
“I was always too busy trying to score goals from fullback and leaving the other defenders exposed. So I've always loved the attacking side of the game, but I think my limited ability slotted me into fullback. But, in the ideal scenario, I'd be up the other end scoring goals.”

With FC 25’s new gameplay options, like the much loved Rush mode, there are plenty of ways to make sure players are playing For The Club, regardless of whether they win or lose. But what does For The Club mean for Ange?
“For The Club is really about doing it for the supporters,” he said.
“Because that’s what it is… You always need to remember that when you’re representing a club you’re representing a whole group of people, sometimes generational. For them, it’s more than just sport, it’s more than just football. I never lose sight of that fact.”
“I'm only in this position because of the football club and that is because of the people who are the most important — the supporters.”

Fair to say that, much like EA SPORTS FC, Ange Postecoglou has had a monumental and lasting impact on the sport of football. Whether you’ve loved the game for decades or are just learning about it through FC 25, Ange’s impact can be felt all across it.
FC 25 is available to play now — we loved it. And Ange himself has some sage words of advice for those ready to dig their feet into the game.
“Mate, stick to Ange-Ball. It doesn't guarantee success, but you'll have some fun.”
