Fans are only just realising what a poker is in football following an incredible first-half performance from Porto striker Samu Omorodion for Spain's under-21s.
Omorodion was highly tipped to sign for Enzo Maresca's Chelsea over the summer, however, the Spanish youngster was one of the few players who didn't sign at Stamford Bridge, instead opting for a move to Porto.
The 20-year-old has scored four goals in five league appearances for the Portuguese side so far this season and also grabbed a brace against Manchester United in the Europa League.

Despite his impressive form this season, Omorodion remained in Spain's junior ranks during the most recent international break, but the young striker made sure to make a point against Malta.
The Porto man fired home a first-half poker, and the achievement is so rare most fans don't even know what it means.
We've all heard of a brace and a hat-trick, but it's not often we hear the word poker in football as it means a player has scored four goals in one game.

The phrase 'poker goals' reportedly comes from Spain and is linked to the four suits of playing cards i.e. four of a kind.
Omorodion isn't the only player to recently go above and beyond a hat-trick, as Cole Palmer made sure everyone knew he wasn't a one-season wonder with his incredible display against Brighton.
Palmer became the first player in Premier League history to achieve a poker before half-time, but the 22-year-old joins the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Luis Suarez, Thierry Henry, Andrey Arshavin, and Kevin De Bruyne who have scored four goals in one game.

A poker is also sometimes referred to as a 'haul' by some football fans but many consider a 'haul' to mean five goals in one game, a feat achieved by Jermaine Defeo, Sergio Aguero, Dimitar Berbatov, Alan Shearer, and Andy Cole in the Premier League era.
