Wayne Rooney will reportedly bring in two former teammates at Birmingham City.
On Sunday, it was confirmed that Rooney will leave MLS side DC United by mutual consent after they failed to make the MLS Cup play-offs.
The former Manchester United striker said: “It's the right time. I've done everything I can to get this club into the play-offs.

“It's not a single thing that's happened. It's about timing.”
Despite only leaving DC United on Sunday, Rooney is set to make an immediate return to management as he is expected to take over at Championship club Birmingham.
According to Football Insider, Rooney has agreed a deal to take over from John Eustace, who was sacked by the club on Monday morning.

The report also claimed that Rooney is set to be joined by former United teammate John O’Shea, as well as ex-England teammate Ashley Cole, with both expected to be included in the new-look backroom staff.
Rooney last managed in the Championship when he was leading Derby County from 2020 to 2022.
The former striker failed to keep the Rams in the division amid financial problems within the club.

On the back of his departure from DC United, club chief executive and co-chairman Jason Levien said: “We have spoken with Wayne and agreed it is best for us to part ways at this time.
“This decision creates the avenue for our next general manager to have the full opportunity to impart a new philosophy and structure onto our sporting operations, which begins with the critical identification of a head coach who will best align with this.
“We are grateful to Wayne Rooney for all he has done for our club and for soccer in the nation's capital, first as a DC United player and captain and most recently as our coach.”
