Fans have been left stunned at the fee Spurs offered for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in a shock deadline day approach that nobody saw coming.
With a squad that has been plagued by injuries this season, Spurs has been extremely active in the January window - bringing in a total of four players so far.
The club made a new goalkeeper a priority with Guglielmo Vicario's injury, with Spurs snapping up Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague.

They've also brought in 18-year-old Min-hyeok Yang and centre-back Kevin Danso on loan, but have now made a huge move to bring in another defender.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Spurs submitted a substantial offer for Guehi as they look to strengthen a backline which has leaked goals left, right and centre.
The offer, which is said to be in the region of £70 million, was rejected by Palace despite Guehi nearing the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park.

Palace recently lost Guehi's fellow centre-back Trevoh Chalobah, who was recalled by Chelsea after making 14 appearances on loan, while Moroccan centre-back Chadi Riad has suffered an ACL injury.
The South London outfit are signing left-back Ben Chilwell on loan from Chelsea but do not want to let their skipper leave.
Guehi, who has cemented himself as a starting centre-back for England, has been a man in demand for a while now and was heavily courted by Newcastle in the summer.

The Magpies made four bids - the highest of which was £65 million - but all were knocked back by Palace.
Guehi signed for Palace in an £18 million switch from Chelsea in 2021 and has made 134 appearances for the Eagles, who appointed him club captain at the start of the season.
Spurs, who asked about AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori, did have alternative targets, however, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the club agreed a loan fee with Chelsea for Axel Disasi.
The centre-back had agreed terms with Aston Villa but Chelsea wanted a higher fee as they are direct rivals for Champions League qualification and so a deal looks to have collapsed.

But it has now emerged that the club have ended their interest in Disasi.
