Fans think TNT Sports commentators aimed savage dig at Michael Oliver and PGMOL during Fulham vs Man Utd

Fans think TNT Sports commentators aimed savage dig at Michael Oliver and PGMOL during Fulham vs Man Utd

Michael Oliver controversially sent Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly off against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Fans are convinced that TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher aimed a dig at Michael Oliver during Manchester United's clash against Fulham.

On Saturday afternoon, one of the Premier League's best referees, Oliver, made headlines after controversially showing Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly a red card during the Gunners' match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Lewis-Skelly appeared to trip Matt Doherty up even though the Wolves man was closer to his own box than the halfway line.

At the time, the Premier League Match Centre said in a statement: "The referee’s call of a red card for Lewis-Skelly was checked and confirmed by VAR, who deemed his challenge to have been serious foul play."

A new angle of the incident then went viral on social media as it appeared to show Lewis-Skelly's studs making contact with Doherty's ankle.

On Sunday night, United's match against Fulham was being shown live on TNT Sports.

During the match, after Harry Wilson was fouled by United midfielder Manuel Ugarte, commentator Fletcher was heard saying: "I’m just hoping that nobody gets sent off for tripping somebody up tonight."

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "TNT commentary sending shots to the refs and PGMOL."

Another tweeted: "They didn’t get the memo."

A third fan added: "About time they get called out!"

Speaking about the Lewis-Skelly incident, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: "It is that clear and I will leave it to you guys. I am absolutely fuming.

"But I will leave it with you, it is that obvious that I don't think my words are going to help."

When asked if the club will appeal the decision, Arteta added: "That's for the club to decide what is the best decision. It's that obvious that maybe we don't even need to [put in an appeal].

"He's really happy now that the team won and found a way to win it. He is very worried about what's coming next because he's strongly feeling that there was nothing to do with the action."
