Commentator Martin Tyler has made a shock claim regarding his exit from Sky Sports.
The 78-year-old left the broadcaster after a 33-year stint of calling games for them, with Sky appointing Peter Drury as his successor for the very biggest games across their coverage.
Following his exit from Sky, which many thought would lead to his retirement, Tyler has confirmed that he is very much still active within the industry and even lifted the lid on the surprise details of his exit from the company.

Speaking to The Sun, Tyler opened up on his exit from Sky at the end of the 2022/23 season. "I didn't step down, I was stepped down," he said.
"I haven't retired. I'm very grateful to some channels who have decided that I've still got something to contribute.
"Please don't think there's any bitterness about Sky at all, they gave me a wonderful run.

"I've got many friends there, I'll be watching in the press room at the Emirates after the Arsenal-Brighton game, the coverage of Liverpool vs Manchester United and it'll bring back a lot of personal memories. I wish everybody well."
Aside from his work in the commentary box, Tyler also coaches non-league side Dartford. "I've done it for 20 years with Alan Dowson," he said on his coaching role.
"Dowse is my mate and he's taken me along, I look after his back a little bit.

"I make them run, that's one of the things I learned from the Premier League training sessions I am privileged to visit and we work on the fitness side.
"It's fun, but we lost 4-0 yesterday and it's not fun."
His replacement, Drury, will be in action on Sunday evening as United travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.
