Man Utd drop major transfer hint in latest announcement on club website

United may be hinting at the future of one of their players.

Manchester United may have dropped a hint about the future of a player linked with a move away from the club.

United have been busy in the summer transfer window ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

French centre back Leny Yoro came to United from Lille and Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee have transferred from Serie A club Bologna.

Several players have been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, but a recent social media post may have dropped a hint about the future of one of these players.

Over the past two weeks, both Everton and Fulham have reportedly enquired about signing Scott McTominay this summer.

But Manchester United have responded to the news by including McTominay in several different Instagram posts promoting their new third kit.

The 27-year-old shared the images on his own Instagram account, further suggesting that he could be set to stay at the club.

But if McTominay is to depart, Fulham look the most likely club to secure his signature, after already submitting two bids for the midfielder.

The most recent bid, reported to be in the region of £20m, was rejected as United are thought to be holding out for at least £25m after the Scotsman impressed during the preseason tour in the USA.

Speaking after the friendly against Rangers in July, United manager Erik ten Hag spoke highly of McTominay.

He said: "I think we have very good players, so they'll always have an interest from other clubs. If you score 10 goals in a season and perform very well for Scotland there will be an interest.

"We want to actually keep him because he's a very important player for our squad. We've seen what he can contribute last season. When we had the sixes and he could play in a more advanced role, he's a highly interesting player for our team."

Outside of the Premier League, it is reported that Italian club Napoli, as well as clubs from Turkey, are also interested in signing McTominay.

He would follow Raphael Varane, Mason Greenwood and Donny van de Beek who left United for a combined €26.5m.
