A note written by a 10-year-old Rasmus Hojlund has proven that the striker’s Old Trafford move is a dream come true.
Last week United completed a £72million move for Atalanta forward Hojlund, with the 20-year-old putting pen to paper on a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option of a further 12 months.
Hojlund, who was unveiled to the United supporters ahead of the club’s friendly against Lens on Saturday, told the club website: "It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player.

"I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me.
"It is still early in my career but I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this group of world-class players.”
And Hojlund’s boyhood United support has been evidenced by a childhood note.
As per Danish TV channel TV2 SPORT, Hojlund wrote of his dream to play for United when he was just 10. He said “My goal is to play for the Danish national team and for Manchester United.”
While the move to the Premier League giants is a dream come true for the striker, he will have to wait to make his first appearance in a United shirt.

The striker was signed for the club with a minor back injury, which requires a few weeks of rehabilitation.
According to the Athletic, Hojlund is on an individual training programme and staff hope he will be fit for the visit to the Emirates in less than a month.
On the matter, Ten Hag said: “It is difficult to say how that process will go, but I think he is making good progress in this moment, then we have to see day by day. Then we have to follow up.”
Speaking at the Lens game Ten Hag also said on Hojlund: “He is a real frontman. Very direct to the goal, very good presser, a physical presence. I think in the balance of this squad, we needed that, alongside (Marcus) Rashford, another player who is direct and can score a goal. That is all in his mind: he wants to score goals.

“I think he has huge potential. And now it’s up to him first, to explore that and we will support him, all the coaches, the team, the team was waiting for a type like him. They will integrate him in the dressing room and in the pitch, they will help him.”
