Ralf Rangnick's only Manchester United signing could finally make his debut against Luton on Sunday after being spotted in first team training.
The Austrian had only one transfer window in interim charge of United between 2021 and 2022, and presented a list of transfer targets to the club's recruitment department.
He told German outlet BILD that he had spoken with United chiefs about the signings of six players, including Christopher Nkunku, Luis Diaz and Erling Haaland.

But the club elected not to sign any of those players in order to back the new manager, which turned out to be Erik ten Hag, the following summer.
The only player that signed for United under Rangnick actually put pen to paper after the window closed, with young defensive midfielder Toby Collyer joining from Brighton in March.
An England youth international, the then 18-year-old was initially signed for United's U21 side, and trained with the first team before their Europa League knockout clash against Barcelona last February.

Collyer, who can also play at centre-back, has made seven appearances for the U21s this season, providing an assist.
However, he is still yet to make an appearance for the senior team under Ten Hag.
But Collyer has once again been called up to first team training ahead of United's Premier League clash at Luton on Sunday - indicating he may be in line to make the matchday squad.
Young forward Ethan Williams has also been spotted with the senior squad as United look to bolster their squad depth in training.

Ten Hag has had numerous availability issues in midfield in recent weeks, with Mason Mount still recovering from a muscle injury and Sofyan Amrabat only recently returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
But the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo this season has set an example to other United youngsters that they can earn opportunities to make their mark in the first team - and Collyer could be the latest beneficiary of that approach at Kenilworth Road.
If United win, they will move to within five points of fourth-placed Aston Villa, with fifth-placed Tottenham - who occupied the final top four spot before the weekend began - suffering a 2-1 home defeat to Wolves on Saturday.
