Manchester united legend Paul Scholes has questioned the club's links with Sporting manager Ruben Amorim after Erik ten Hag was sacked on Monday.
After over two years in charge, United confirmed that they had sacked Ten Hag on Monday following the team's 2-1 loss to West Ham United on Sunday.
Following his dismissal as United manager, rumours have emerged that Sporting boss Amorim is the favourite to take over in the Old Trafford dugout.

And now, club legend Scholes has spoken out about the potential appointment of the Portuguese manager and suggested other names that United must consider.
Amorim had been strongly linked with both Liverpool and West Ham United at the end of last season after Jurgen Klopp and David Moyes left the clubs.
But if he comes to United, Scholes isn't completely completely convinced he would be the best man for the job.

Speaking to the official Premier League website, the ex-United midfielder said: “Amorim is an interesting one. But, again, that is a risky one.
"We all know the style of play. [Amorim] plays really good football. We’ve been talking about him for City, that obviously tells you something about his pedigree.
“Most of these managers, they’ve been at clubs where the expectation probably is not as high. I look at Thomas Frank and I see that. He might be a very capable manager for Manchester United but expectations are not [at Brentford] what they are at Manchester United.

“I was a big Thomas Tuchel fan but obviously that’s gone,” Scholes added. “He’s managed elite clubs, he’s won big trophies with big clubs. I think [Ten Hag’s replacement] needs to have experience at an elite football club."
Therefore, Scholes seeing Frank as maybe not ready for United yet and Tuchel unavailable after taking the England job, the 49-year-old has named the other name United should consider alongside Amorim.
“This is one of the very biggest clubs in the world, so they should have the very best in class. Zidane is the one who has been at a major, major club and won major honours. But I am not sure how educated he is with the English language or whether he actually wants to come to England. You never get that feeling with him.”
