Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt has revealed his true feelings about the sacking of former manager Erik ten Hag and his replacement Ruben Amorim.
De Ligt joined United from Bayern Munich in a £38million deal this summer as he looked to reunite with Ten Hag, who he played under at Ajax.
However, just two months after the defender came to Old Trafford, his former boss was sacked from his role of United manager, and replaced by ex-Sporting manager Amorim.

And now, for the first time, De Ligt has spoken out about Ten Hag's departure and given his thoughts on the new United boss.
In an official club statement on October 28, United confirmed that they had parted ways with Ten Hag and just four days later, they announced that Amorim would be taking over as his replacement.
Speaking to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf about Ten Hag, De Light said: "He brought me to Manchester, the goal was to achieve success together with Erik.

"He has not been very lucky. We played well in many matches, but we did not use the chances we got. It is a shame that it has to end like this.”
The Dutchman also revealed that he has spoken to Ten Hag since he was sacked, adding: “A dismissal can always be quite hard. We discussed some things.”
De Ligt also gave his thoughts on the appointment of new boss Amorim, who officially joined the club at the beginning of this week.

“He did well at Sporting, hopefully, he can also take us to the next level. Amorim is not my first coach and he will not be my last coach.
I did not only move to Manchester United for Ten Hag. It is still one of the biggest clubs in the world, I think. I just have to do my own thing and play well myself.
"I feel really fit now and things are going well. Hopefully I can continue that.”
Manchester United's first match under the guidance of Amorim will be the Premier League clash with Ipswich Town at Portman Road on November 24.
