Mason Mount and Enzo Fernandez had an altercation during Chelsea's dramatic injury time win over Manchester United - and a fresh angle has shown the reason for the clash.
Chelsea beat United 4-3 in a remarkable midweek clash in the Premier League by scoring deep into injury time.
The Stamford Bridge side raced into a two-goal advantage thanks to Conor Gallagher's strike and Cole Palmer's penalty.

However, United got back on level terms through Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, before Garnacho netted his second goal after the break to put Erik ten Hag's side on course for three points after coming from behind.
However, Palmer levelled with his second penalty of the game in the 10th minute of added time, before the ex-Manchester City man netted the winner from a quickly taken Fernandez corner to stun United and spark jubilant scenes for the hosts.
The match essentially ended any slim hopes United did have of securing Champions League football next season, in most fans' minds.

The clash also provided Mount's first time back at Stamford Bridge since he left Chelsea last summer for United in a £55m transfer.
It proved to not be the reunion the attacker had probably been hoping for in the end, thanks to the dramatic late ending when United failed to hang on to their lead.
Fernandez and Mount are former team-mates, with the former having moved to Stamford Bridge from Benfica in January 2023 for a £106.8m transfer fee.

But there was little love lost on the evening after the win, as after Palmer’s late winner, Fernandez was seen thumping the Chelsea badge in front of Mount before shouting at the former Stamford Bridge academy product.
There was a moment before this which appeared to prompt Fernandez's actions following the late drama.
Mount kicked a ball away in an apparent show of time wasting, something which Fernandez did not like and confronted the United man about, with both players pushing one another and locking foreheads.
However, a fresh angle of the footage appears to explain the altercation better and why it happened.

Diogo Dalot was poised to take a throw in with a ball in his hands, but Mount allowed another ball to come onto the pitch and kicked it when Fernandez came to put it out of play.
This then led to the altercation - but it's fair to say Fernandez and Chelsea ended up having the last laugh in the end.
